Karen Oosterbaan is an Alexander Technique teacher and professional violinist in the Boston area committed to exploring how the technique can transform the performing artist's technique and musicianship. She has presented a series of Alexander Technique workshops for the Boston Symphony Orchestra, New England Conservatory, Longy School of Music, Guildhall School of Music in London, American String Teacher's Association and the AGM in San Francisco. She has served on the AmSAT Board of Directors from 2008 - 2010. Currently, she is teaching Alexander Technique Classes at the New England Conservatory. As a professional violinist, she performs with the Orchestra of Emmanuel Music. She has appeared as a concerto soloist with the Cambridge Symphony Orchestra. She also teaches chamber music at Olin College and is on faculty at the Winchester Community Music School.
